God’s Helping Hand #10

Hello friends! Guess what? We had snow last night/this morning. It is beautiful outside, sunny and white, though the snow is melting now.

Looks like we have a lot of thankful people!

Thank you very much for your replies Kezzia, Marie, David, Vanessa B., Flaviu, Melanie T., Alicia, Melanie F., and Sarah H., and for your introduction, Melanie T., and for your testimony, Melanie F.

Our question was:

It is soon a special time to especially remember what we are thankful for. What are you especially thankful to God for, and why?

Kezzia’s answer is:

I am thankful for my mother and my father. They lead me in the paths of God.

Marie’s answer is:

The thing I am most thankful for is my family. Because I'm home schooled I'm with them a lot! But I know they love me and I love them. I am also very thankful for my dear friends. All of my friends live at least an hour away from me, most of them many states away. But through letters and emails, they strengthen and encourage me, and make me laugh and cry with them.

David’s answer is:

I am thankful to the Lord for many things, but most especially I am thankful to Him for three things at this time: 1) His traveling mercies: my work takes me to many countries and different places, and the Lord has always watched over me and protected me. 2) Time of Mercy: the Lord is so gracious to allow us some more time to spread the gospel message. I am thankful for each soul He places in my way to whom I can witness of the Love of God. 3) Family: I am thankful to God for my wife and family and for their wonderful love and support this past year. In fact there are so many things I could be thankful for just this week that I would need to write a whole book to put it all in words.

Vanessa B.’s answer is:

God has blessed so much in this past year and I'd like to tell you all one thing I am really thankful for, everyday. I am thankful to be ALIVE. I am thankful to be living, especially since recently I just gained another year of life. In the past two weeks, it's been different. Confusing. Hard to adjust to what has happened 2 weeks ago. So many lives were lost and so many people are suffering, and it just makes me realize the fragility of life. God can take away any time, or give life, any time He wants to...and we have no control over that. But we can have control over one thing: our destiny. And I am thankful to God for a new year, for being alive, that I can further strive to make my destiny sure. And I want it to be heaven! :)

Flaviu’s answer is:

I saw a bumper sticker today in the parking lot of the school and it said as follows: "If you can read this you weren't aborted, Call your mom today and thank her." I realized how blessed I am to be able to take a breath each and every morning, to be able to walk and most of all to praise GOD for all the mercies He had bestowed upon us and one thing that can't be left out is to thank Him for HIS SON. I AM ONE OF THE MOST BLESSED PEOPLE ON EARTH BECAUSE I GOT ANOTHER CHANCE!

Melanie T.’s answer is:

There are many things that I am thankful for. :-) The Lord has done many things for me-- too many to count. However, what I'm especially thankful for is that Jesus died on the cross for me and that He cares for and provides for all my needs. I'm also thankful that I have a loving Heavenly Father. :-) There is so much more that I'm thankful for, but here are a couple verses that really touch me:

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

1 Peter 5:7 "Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you."

It is a wonderful thought that the Lord loves and cares for us so much!

Alicia’s answer is:

I am very thankful for all the friends I have made here! If I didn't have friends I don't know where I would be. I would probably be very depressed. Also I am very thankful for a good family. I am very happy that God has let me be a missionary! If it weren’t for E-mail I wouldn't be writing this! Thank you God for everything! God bless. Your friend, and sis. in Christ, Alicia

Melanie F.’s answer is:

I thank God for the way He is constantly teaching and guiding me. He is worthy to be praised. I thank God for the people that He has placed in my life, --ones that have given me encouragement and comfort in my time of need. I thank God as well for the little things in life (ex: air, clothing) that we take for granted at times. Why do I thank Him for all of these things? It reminds me that He is a God of love. He is also not a forceful God. He loves and takes care of His beloved children.

Sarah H.’s answer is:

I am most thankful for my parents and for all of my family but I am also very thankful to God for all the beautiful things that he made for us in nature.

Editor’s Note:

Thank you for all your answers! We have so much to be thankful for. I am thankful for my family, especially my parents, because they seek to obey God, live up to His counsels and teach me to do the same. I am also very thankful for God’s protection, for all His gifts… The internet and email service have also been a great blessing.I have met so many nice people. The internet can be used in a negative way, but is also very useful in spreading the gospel, encouraging people, being encouraged, keeping in contact with low cost… God is good, He seeks to bring me closer to Him, and I want to be in heaven with all of you!

An introduction…

My name is Melanie, and I'm 19 years old. Right now I'm a College Sophomore, thinking of majoring in Natural Medicine. I am a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Reform Movement and the youth leader for my church. I really enjoying, studying God's word, being out in nature, going on hikes, playing/listening to music, as well as a lot of other things. If you would like write me, you can E-mail me at: MelanieMMT@aol.com. Take care, and God bless!

A testimony…

After my past experiences, I have one thing to say: "'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus!" I encourage everyone to wait upon the Lord. Do not try to do things on your own. For without God, we can do nothing. If God is in it, the task will get done. We are to have faith in God's guidance. Like Abraham, I was promised something. And, like Abraham, I hearkened to the voice of men. Therefore, I didn't rely on the promises found in God's Word. I listened to the philosophies of men. I doubted God.

My dear brothers and sisters, let us not doubt God! Praise be to God that the story of Abraham didn't stop with the after effect on not trusting in God! Notice the rest of the story: Abraham decided to have faith in God's word. After hearing God say for him to take his only son, Isaac, for a burnt offering, he didn't hesitate. He took the lad and two others and went where God told him to go. This was a supreme test for Abraham. In the book of Hebrews (chapter eleven), it stated that Abraham had faith that God would raise Isaac up from the dead. Oh, what great faith!

I entreat you now, dear brothers and sisters, stretch out your faith! "'Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus!"

Would you like to introduce yourself? I am sure everyone enjoys reading introductions as much as I do.
